ArmInfo. The situation on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border and in Nagorno-Karabakh is fraught with serious destabilization. This was reported in the CSTO Secretariat following an expanded meeting of the leadership at the headquarters of the organization.
"According to the CSTO Secretary General, the situation in the South Caucasus remains fraught with serious destabilization. Risks related to the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh and the Armenian-Azerbaijani border also remain acute," the secretariat noted.
"The tension between Armenia and Azerbaijan in the Caucasus region is maintained as a result of years of contradictions," CSTO Secretary General Imangali Tasmagambetov following an expanded meeting of the leadership at the headquarters of the organization, TASS reports.
It should be noted that according to the National Security Service of Armenia, on March 30, the Azerbaijani Armed Forces from 5 points invaded the territory of the Republic of Armenia advancing from 100 to 300 meters in the direction of the village of Tegh in the Syunik region of the Republic of Armenia and positioned themselves.
The Azerbaijani Defense Ministry said that their forces took control of the heights and territories in the Berdzor region on the border with Armenia due to the commissioning of a new road linking Nagorno- Karabakh with Armenia.
Meanwhile, according to reports from local residents, the Azerbaijani Armed Forces occupied more than 4 sq. km of RA territories.
