ArmInfo.Armenia is a country at a crossroads, both geographically and politically, the former NATO Sectretary-General, Anders Fogh Rasmussen, wrote in a Facebook post.
"Since 2018, its democracy has made important strides forward. The EU and democratic world must do more to support this development.
"This week I was in Armenia - to show my support for this democratic development but also to raise awareness of a humanitarian crisis ongoing in Europe's backyard. The continued blockade of the Lachin corridor, which links Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh, is causing immense hardship. We urgently need an independent UN or OSCE mission to assess the humanitarian situation on the ground. The EU should use its relationship with Azerbaijan to push for this without delay."
