ArmInfo.State Minister of the Republic of Artsakh Ruben Vardanyan announced his resignation, but stated that he would continue to stay in Artsakh. He spent 112 days in office, having managed a lot during this period. But why was he forced to leave?
For those who monitor the coverage of the situation with Artsakh in the world media, it is obvious that in recent months there has been a wave of publications in Western media, the purpose of which was to discredit the state minister, creating the image of “Putin’s henchman”, with an emphasis on the war in Ukraine.
While news media, including leading agencies, almost daily covered the situation with the blockade Baku-organized and the famine that threatened the lives of 120,000 Armenians in Nagorno-Karabakh, both analytical and “analytical” publications of various formats in the EU and the USA were pushing the opposite agenda.
If we put next to each other January editions of such major media as Forbes, The Washington Times, Politico, The Hill, Townhall, then a distinct set of narratives is clearly visible, aimed both at disavowing Vardanyan and at “refuting” the existence of a blockade and famine in Artsakh.
Someone may consider this the result of the Aliyev’s regime paying for publications, but this is a very shallow superficial view. Historically Azerbaijani propaganda was known to be working very directly and crudely. The media in which anti-Vardanyan articles appeared do not belong to the same journalistic circles - Republicans or Democrats, these are not “package” deals that the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry uses to promote quotes from its president or foreign minister.
The second important point is that a number of publications refer to the publications in the Ukrainian media and the actions of Ukrainian members of parliament of a clearly anti-Armenian disposition, which began almost simultaneously with publications in the West.
Previously, the Ukrainian media and politicians showed no interest in the situation in Artsakh. Such a sudden deep dive into the topic of Ukrainian newspapers and politicians, even during the hostilities, cannot be explained by anything other than external influence. Given the control of the US and Britain over everything that happens in Ukraine, as well as the coordinated flow of related publications in the EU, US and Ukraine, this is an unprecedented action, most likely taken at the highest level in the West.

Apropos, it is important to note that publications of similar content appeared in the media in the Baltic countries.
It can be assumed that Azerbaijan was used just as a cover in this matter, since Russia was the main target of the strike.
