ArmInfo. Yerevan hopes that Azerbaijan will not refuse to enter into a dialogue with Stepanakert. RA Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan stated on February 22 at a joint press conference with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg Jean Asselborn.
According to him, when Armenia initiated a process with Azerbaijan, two directions of negotiations were presented: normalization of relations, a peace treaty, on the one hand, and a format, a platform for discussing the rights and security of the Armenians of Nagorno-Karabakh, on the other hand.
<Azerbaijan has been avoiding such discussion for a long time. However, in Munich, both at a meeting with US Secretary of State Blinken and during panel discussions, readiness and assurances were received from the Azerbaijani side that an internationally visible dialogue between Baku and Stepanakert should take place>, he said.
However, according to him, on the other hand, in recent years, Yerevan has been dealing with a situation when agreements are reached, and then Baku retreats, including on well-known signed documents. "I hope the same thing will not happen this time and there will be no refusal," Mirzoyan summed up.
