ArmInfo.Ambassador of Japan to Armenia Fukushima Masanori made a statement regarding the situation in the Lachin corridor.
The Ambassador's statement, received by ArmInfo, reads in particular: "I am concerned by the reports of the developments around the Lachin corridor. I urge the sides to de- escalate tensions and to ensure freedom and security of movement along the corridor, in line with the arrangements that the sides have agreed."
Since December 12, 2022, the Azerbaijani side, under a far-fetched environmental pretext, blocked the only road connecting Artsakh with the outside world. The population of the NKR has been in blockade for almost a month, deprived of basic means of subsistence. All this is happening against the background of the civilized community's tacit encouragement of these inhumane actions of Azerbaijan, despite the universal human values so beautifully promoted by the Western world. Since yesterday, Artsakh has lost the opportunity to receive electricity from Armenia as a result of Azerbaijan's destructive actions. We also add that these are traditional methods practiced by Azerbaijan, when Artsakh was deprived of gas for three days in December.
