ArmInfo.On November 23, Russian President Vladimir Putin, at the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) summit in Yerevan, thanked Armenia for its work as chairing country of the organization and expressed the readiness of the Russian Federation to further promote the development of relations between the states of the Organisation.
"I would like to express my gratitude to Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, to all our Armenian friends for the work done during the period of chairmanship in the CSTO, and also to wish success to our Belarusian colleagues, who will assume the chairmanship of the organization. For our part, we will undoubtedly provide all the necessary assistance and in general, we will continue to do everything possible to promote the expansion of allied ties between the CSTO countries," Putin said, speaking at a meeting in a narrow format.
He also thanked Stanislav Zas, who is leaving the post of CSTO Secretary General on January 1, and wished success to the incoming representative of Kazakhstan, Imangali Tasmagambetov.
