ArmInfo. The recognition of the Armenian Genocide of 1915 should have made us more vigilant so that no people suffer from these horrors, and that those who fell victim to this hatred could be finally protected. French MP, founding member of the France-Artsakh Friendship Circle Valerie Boyer, stated this yesterday at the hearings in the French Senate.
At the same time, she stated with regret that history repeats itself.
"Make no mistake about Azerbaijan and Turkey. We really have a new war of conquest at the gates of Europe. "If they keep quiet, the stones will cry out!" as the Gospel of St. Luke says. In the name of our values, for the sake of which we defend Ukraine, we must save Armenia," the MP stressed.
On November 15, the French Senate, with 295 votes in favor and 1 vote against, approved a resolution imposing sanctions on Azerbaijan, demanding the immediate withdrawal of Azerbaijani troops from the sovereign territory of Armenia and observing the ceasefire in accordance with the tripartite statement of November 9, 2020. In addition, the resolution provides for support for initiatives to achieve sustainable peace between the two countries. The resolution was presented by Bruno Retail, Christian Cambo, Elian Assas, Patrick Kanner, Herve Marcel, and Gilbert-Luc Devinaz.
