ArmInfo. The process of delimitation and demarcation of borders cannot be completed by the end of the year. Chairman of the Permanent Parliamentary Commission on Security and Defense Andranik Kocharyan stated this during the briefing, noting that the process is underway and temporary restrictions should not serve as an obstacle.
<The most important thing is that we agree on the duration and continuity of the process. If we set time limits, then the process will not lead us anywhere>, Kocharyan said. He attached importance to the fact that the commissions, in the context of the processes for the implementation of the delimitation and demarcation of borders, work within the framework of the document on the part of internationally recognized borders.
In turn, MP from the ruling party Sargis Khandalyan noted that the Prime Minister's statement (on the signing of a peace treaty by the end of the year - ed. note) concerned the issues of delimitation and ensuring security mechanisms at the border. " Because demarcation is a completely different process and quite long," he explained. It should be noted that on October 26, during the parliamentary hour, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated that the government would make every effort to sign a peace treaty with Azerbaijan by the end of the year. In this regard, he expressed the hope that before the conclusion of the agreement, work should also be carried out to delimit the border. Pashinyan recalled that as a result of the meeting in Prague, an agreement was reached on delimitation work based on the 1991 borders.
