ArmInfo.Chairman of the Committee of the State Duma of the Russian Federation on CIS Affairs, Eurasian Integration and Relations with Compatriots Konstantin Zatulin said that on October 24 he sent a letter to Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of the Republic of Armenia Mher Grigoryan with a request for assistance in visiting the city of Jermuk and its environs on October 29 by representatives of the "Lazarev Club" in order to familiarize themselves with the current situation.
This is stated in the message of Zatulin's Telegram channel, which recalls that in September the armed forces of Azerbaijan advanced deep into the sovereign territory of the Republic of Armenia in this direction.
And already today, on October 25, Konstantin Zatulin received an e-mail to the State Duma deputy's official e-mail about the "undesirability" of his arrival in the Republic of Armenia.
The letter received reads: "On behalf of the leadership of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia, we inform you that, unfortunately, your public statements of the recent period against the Republic of Armenia are detrimental to the development of friendly and allied relations between our states. In this regard, in the future, your arrival in the Republic of Armenia is considered undesirable."
The letter was signed by the head of the Foreign Relations Department of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia Tigran Seyranyan.
Reacting to this attack by the Armenian authorities, Konstantin Zatulin, in particular, said: "I assess this as an insulting step. It was sudden for us, we received a letter from the head of the foreign relations department of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia. We were told that my visit was undesirable, and my statements are detrimental to the Republic of Armenia."
The fact that Zatulin was declared persona non grata in Armenia became known from the newspaper of the family of RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
