ArmInfo. The province of Auvergne-Rhone-Alpes of the French Republic will provide the Syunik region of Armenia with 300 thousand euros to overcome the consequences of the Azerbaijani aggression.
This is stated in the message of the regional administration of Syunik, posted on its Facebook page. According to the report, the goal of the program is to support Armenia, which has been subjected to aggression by Azerbaijan, as well as to intensify cooperation with the strategic region of Syunik. Governor of Syunik region Robert Ghukasyan attended the vote in the Provincial Council.
The source also notes that on October 20, in the regional council of the region, the head of Auvergne-Rhone-Alpes Laurent Timothee Marie Wauquiez, the Armenian ambassador to France Hasmik Tolmajian and the governor of Syunik Robert Ghukasyan made a joint statement to the press media regarding the large-scale aggression of Azerbaijan on September 13-14 against the sovereign territory of Armenia and its consequences, the effective cooperation that has developed between the region and Armenia, as well as the intention to establish partnership relations between Auvergne- Rhone-Alpes and the Syunik region.
In her speech, Hasmik Tolmajian highly appreciated the commitment of head of Auvergne-Rhone-Alpes Region Laurent Wauquiez to establishing partnership with Syunik, which
is under constant threat from Azerbaijan. As a result of the event, the Governor of the Syunik region Robert Ghukasyan and head of the Auvergne-Rhone-Alpes region Laurent Wauquiez, in the presence of the Armenian Ambassador to France, Hasmik Tolmajian, signed a memorandum "On partnership between the Syunik region of the Republic of Armenia and the region of Auvergne-Rhone-Alpes of the French Republic".
