ArmInfo.A number of MEPs and journalists have responded to the killings of Armenian servicemen in Armenia's sovereign territory.
"Oh media, France and the EU, what are you waiting for to act for small and democratic Armenia? Mrs Ursula von der Leyen, are you waiting for the Azeris and their Turkish allies to end the 1915 genocide? Is the blood of Armenians worth less than that of Ukrainians?" French Senate members Valerie Boyer tweeted.
"In other cases of torturing in AZE prisons we know already who is involved. We know the names. We urgently need individual sanctions against these perpetrators," MEP Viola von Cramon-Taubadel tweeted.
"The savage images of Azerbaijani soldiers executing Armenian prisoners of war are unacceptable. To perversely use the political position that your [natural] gas gives you (in times of high global costs) to carry out invasions and violate the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) human rights is doubly intolerable," Anton Gomez-Reino, a member of the Congress of Deputies of Spain, tweeted.
Jon Inarritu Gartzia, a member of the Congress of Deputies of Spain, tweeted:
"Once again, the barbarism of the Azerbaijani regime. Is this the people with whom you signed agreements and consider reliable partners, Mrs von der Leyen?"
"Horrific. Impunity and lack of investigation of war crimes from the 2020 war is enabling new atrocities, now the apparent killing of these seven unarmed Armenian men in the last Azerbaijan incursion. Glad to see this EU response," British journalist Thomas de Waal tweeted in response to a tweet by Toivo Klaar.
Armenia's former FM Zohrab Mnatsakanyan tweeted: "The horrific video of execution of Armenian POWs by Azeri aggressors is a blow to EU, US peace efforts. We are dealing with savages. Without actions against Azeris no progress to expect. Sanctions, weapons and de-occupation! Now!"
