ArmInfo. One more act of media terror was committed in Yerevan yesterday, with an Armenian national and the Republic of Armenia being victims, Gevorg Papoyan, a member of the dominant parliamentary faction Civil Contract, stated in Parliament as he commented on the protests in Yerevan.
“A political assessment of the events will yet be given, but I am absolutely sure that external enemy networks are behind the actions, as yesterday’s events are a direct blow on the Armenian army and people. Terrorizing their own people, spreading lies and concealing the truth means serving the enemy interests,” he said. Yesterday’s events are a recurrence of the November 9, 2020 events, with an attempted coup.
“But one more time, certain circles and their sponsors made sure that our people see everything very well. Some excitement can be caused by means of manipulations, but the system of lies that had been formed for years has failed,” Mr Papoyan said.
In some cases people in Armenia’s rural areas received calls from Yerevan and were urged to arrive in Yerevan because “lands are being surrendered, the documents have been signed or are going to be signed in five minutes.”
“It was a well organized process of deceiving people into coming to Baghramyan Avenue and committing anti-constitutional actions. Finally, these people will be left face to face with law-enforcers,” the MP said.
Yesterday’s events were an attempt to open a second front against Armenia.
“With the army warring – doing its best - speaking of the lands surrendered to the enemy means discouraging soldiers and officers, which could create grave problems on the border,” Mr Papoyan said. And the persons behind the events will stop at nothing as they have no redline, which is, in fact, a tragedy for the Armenian people and state.
