ArmInfo.By its very content, but not the end result, the Brussels format of negotiations can be successful for Armenia only in the case of an extremely active  participation of Armenia itself in this process. A similar opinion  was expressed to ArmInfo by president of the Yerevan Press Club Boris  Navasardyan.

"It is about Yerevan's attempts to fit very specific issues,  problems, concerns related to the Brussels negotiation process, and,  of course, about its alternative proposals and expectations from  Baku. Otherwise, it makes no sense to wait for serious decisions from  Brussels. In the best case, a general document will be signed there,  which will not mention specific issues, with a very specific  content," the expert forecasts.

In his opinion, the latter will be resolved in the  Armenia-Azerbaijan-Russia format, in the 3 + 3 format, with Yerevan's  very passive participation, with appropriate consequences.  According  to Navasardyan, the main problems can be solved in these formats  based on the interests of Russia, Turkey, Iran and Azerbaijan, rather  than on the interests of Armenia. Noting the fact of greater  cooperation at this stage of the interests of Moscow, Ankara and  Baku, Navasardyan noted that Tehran, in the light of its own rather  small capabilities and resources in the region, has to adapt its own  interests to them, meanwhile, Yerevan cannot afford even that.

"In general, Brussels and Moscow have their own non-intersecting  agenda. In Moscow, the demarcation and demarcation of the border, the  unblocking of communications are discussed, while in Brussels, issues  about more general regulation. And Moscow, unlike Baku, is absolutely  not interested in the imminent signing of a peace agreement between  Armenia and Azerbaijan," he said.

In the opinion of Navasardyan, one way or another, but it is  Brussels, that contains the chances of preventing developments that  are undesirable for Armenia and Artsakh.  Through direct  Pashinyan-Aliyev negotiations with the moderation, but not the  participation, of Charles Michel with the support of the United  States. Since by continuing to discuss the specifics in Moscow, in  the context of the hegemony of the positions and interests of Moscow,  Baku and Ankara, Yerevan misses the chances of observing its own  interests.
