ArmInfo.The European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) rejected Azerbaijan's claim regarding Berdzor and nearby villages, noting that there is no need to apply a new interim measure, the RFE/RL's Armenian Service reports with reference to the RA representative on international legal issues.
The representative reports that on August 18, Azerbaijan applied to the ECHR with a request "to immediately and unconditionally oblige the forces and bodies controlled by Armenia to stop the destruction of property in the city of Berdzor and nearby villages, including the burning of houses, and to provide information on the measures taken."
The other day, based on the application of Armenia on the implementation of interim measures to the ECHR to protect the rights of the civilian population of a number of settlements of Nagorno-Karabakh, the ECHR confirmed the measures applied on September 29, 2020 and the extended interim measure of November 3 of the same year, noting that it remains in force.
