ArmInfo. U.S. Permanent Representative tothe Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) Michael Carpenter reacted to the latest developments around Nagorno-Karabakh. So, in his microblog on Twitter, in particular, he wrote:
"I am deeply concerned for the security of those living in and around Nagorno-Karabakh due to the reports of renewed fighting in the area. We do not want a return to widespread hostilities as we saw in 2020 and urge immediate steps to reduce tensions and avoid further escalation. "
Another aggravation in the zone of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict began on the morning of August 1. Azerbaijani units do not stop provocations and ceasefire violations. On August 1, as a result of shelling from the Azerbaijani side, a soldier of the Artsakh Defense Army was wounded. As a result of the enemy's actions, 19 servicemen of the Artsakh Armed Forces were injured and two more were killed. The enemy used drones and grenade launchers. The goal is to force the people of Artsakh to leave Berdzor. And today, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, reacting to the situation, noted that at present the situation around Nagorno-Karabakh is extremely complicated, but there are questions to Russian peacekeepers, who should stop any attempts to violate the line of contact. To this, the Kremlin noted that close contacts between the parties would clarify the situation.
