ArmInfo.Dislike for Russians is being stirred up in Azerbaijan, Tigran Abrahamyan, a member of the opposition bloc With Honor, believes.
According to him, the activities of Azerbaijani websites and telegram channels are more than merely anti- Russian propaganda amid the Russian-Ukrainian crisis.
And the picture is even clearer given the fact that the platform are affiliated or directly subordinate the ruling elite or government agencies.
"Hatred for Russian servicem and cynicism, insulting remarks about killed, wounded or imprisoned servicemen are evidence that dislike for Russians is being stirred up in Azerbaijan on a large scale. It is clear Russia is taking into account, but it is not clear when Russia is going to take measures," he said.
"Any development of Russian-Azerbaijani relations will have its effect on our region," Mr Abrahamyan said.
Amid Russia's military operation in Ukraine and anti-Russian rhetoric in Azerbaijan's media outlets, the Federal Service for Supervision of Communications, Information Technology, and Mass Media (Roskomnadzor) blocked a number of Azerbaijani media outlets in Russia.
A few days ago, Azerbaijan blocked RIA Novosti because of an interview with State Minister of Nagorno- Karabakh Artak Beglaryan. The website was unblocked only after removing the interview
