ArmInfo. The "Armenia" and "I have the honor" opposition factions of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia initiated a session of the Parliament with their agenda. This was announced during a rally on May 25 by the coordinator of the Resistance Movement, Deputy Speaker from the opposition faction "Armenia" Ishkhan Saghatelyan.
He noted that their only demand is for the parliament to make a statement on Armenia's relations with Azerbaijan and Turkey.
"If you are not afraid of Aliyev (President of Azerbaijan - ed. note), come to the meeting and sign the statement. These are our "red lines". These are the minimum requirements, but the Armenian authorities do not have so much courage. We look forward to holding this important meeting next week," said Saghatelyan.
Then, the ARF member read out the text of the statement, which will be proposed by the opposition to the parliament, excluding any changes in its content.
The statement, in particular, contains 7 points: " First, Armenia will support the full realization of the right of the people of Artsakh to self-determination and international recognition. Any final version of the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, as a result of which Artsakh may become part of Azerbaijan is unacceptable for Armenia.
Secondly, a reliable land connection between Armenia and Artsakh must be ensured, excluding the latter's enclave position.
Thirdly, Armenia is the guarantor of the security of the people of Artsakh and the realization of their right to self-determination.
Fourthly, the work on the delimitation and demarcation of the border with Armenia should be carried out with the precondition of resolving humanitarian issues, the return of Armenian prisoners of war and detainees and the withdrawal of Azerbaijani troops from the sovereign territory of Armenia.
Fifth, as a result of the delimitation and demarcation of the border, violation of the territorial integrity of Armenia should be excluded.
Sixth, in the process of normalizing Armenian-Turkish relations, Armenia excludes any agreement that would call into question the facts of the Armenian Genocide and the deprivation of the Armenian people of their homeland.
Seventh, the normalization of the Armenian-Turkish and Armenian-Azerbaijani relations are not interconnected with each other, and the unblocking of communications with Azerbaijan and Turkey cannot be carried out according to the "corridor" logic."
Speaking about plans for May 26, Saghatelyan called on all supporters of the Resistance Movement to come to France Square at 10:30. According to him, the parents of the heroic servicemen turned to them and asked them to support them in front of the building of the Supreme Judicial Council.
Saghatelyan clarified that this is about the demand of the parents of the soldiers killed in the 44-day war in Artsakh to bring Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan to justice. "On May 26, the visit of the President of Montenegro to Armenia is expected. And at 15:30 we all gather at the Place de France to meet and pursue any international delegation and show that Nikol does not have a people's mandate to meet and negotiate with anyone. From 15 :30 to 19:30 we are waiting for a fierce struggle. Our struggle will continue to the end," he concluded.
