ArmInfo.Armenia has legal grounds for enclaves in Azerbaijan, while Azerbaijan has not provided any evidence. Secretary of the Security Council of Armenia Armen Grigoryan stated this during the briefing.
In this regard, he noted that Armenia expects Azerbaijan's justifications for the existence of enclaves, as the issue has been raised by them.
Referring to the meeting of the Commission on demarcation and delimitation of borders, Grigoryan said that it did not take place due to technical reasons. In this regard, the Secretary of the Security Council expressed the hope that in the near future it will be possible to eliminate the technical problems that have arisen and the meeting will still take place. According to him, the technical issues relate to the general agenda, which was formed at the Sochi (November 26, 2021) and Brussels (April 6 this year) meetings.
"We expect that the process of demarcation and delimitation should take place within the logic of these two statements, and that a solution will be found within this logic," he said. It should be noted that Azerbaijan expresses claims to 8 Armenian villages located in the Tavush and Ararat regions of Armenia.
