ArmInfo. Armenia responded to the Azerbaijan-proposed five points with six points, Ambassador-at-Large Edmon Marukyan said in an interview with the Public TV of Armenia.
The first point indicates that Armenia was responding to a letter of February 21 placed at the Armenian side's disposal on March 11, that is, 20 days later. The second point states that Armenia has never laid territorial claims to Azerbaijan and recognized Azerbaijan's territorial integrity under the Agreement on the CIS of December 8, 1991, and ratified it on February 18, 1992.
"That is, in signing and joining the structure the parties recognized each other," Marukyan said.
The third point is a fundamental one for the Armenian side as it deals with the Artsakh Armenians' security, rights and freedoms a well as with Nagorno-Karabakh's final status. The fourth point indicates that the Armenian side attaches importance to honoring its commitments under the statement between the Armenian premier, Russia and Azerbaijani presidents of November 9, 2020, January 11 and November 26, 2021.
"It is handover of POWs, which requirement has not been honored yet," Mr Marukyan said. The fifth point indicates the Armenian side's readiness to start negotiations on a peace agreement and normalization and establishment of interstate relations with Azerbaijan based on the U.N Charter, International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR) and Helsinki Final Act. The final provision indicates that the Armenian side applied to the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs for organizing negotiations.
