The presence of salmonella in "kinder surprises" was revealed on April 6, after which the countries of the world began to warn their citizens about the danger and remove this alleged "poison" from the shelves. The European Health Agency began investigating cases of poisoning on April 7.
The manufacturer of chocolate eggs, the Italian Ferrero confectionery group, on the same day recalled several large shipments of chocolate eggs and other products in the UK, Ireland and Spain, as well as in Belgium, France, Germany and Luxembourg. Those affected by chocolate eggs are mostly children under the age of 10.. Most cases have been reported in the UK. Infections have also been confirmed in France, Ireland, Belgium, Germany, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Sweden and Norway.
Today, April 13, the Food Safety Inspectorate of Armenia issued a press release in which it said that it had received information from the International Food Safety Authorities Network (INFOSAN), according to which 5 products of the Kinder brand, produced in Belgium and Germany, considered risky. In this regard, "comparing the information received within the framework of state control", the State Inspectorate decided to suspend the sale of 650 kg in Armenia. At the same time, the Inspectorate reported that it did not impose any restrictions on the sale of all other goods of the Kinder brand, and they are subject to sale. The Inspectorate took samples and sent them for laboratory testing.
Ferrero, amid "bad news", decided to voluntarily withdraw from circulation certain batches of products that were produced at the Belgian factory in Arlon. It is reported that in a number of European countries cases of salmonellosis have indeed been established, now experts are conducting research and establishing a possible connection. The work of the factory in Belgium is suspended.
