ArmInfo.Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov had a telephone conversation with Foreign Minister of the Republic of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan.
According to the press service of the Russian Foreign Ministry, topical issues on the bilateral agenda were discussed, including preparations for the official visit of Armenian Prime Minister N. Pashinyan to Russia in April, as well as a series of other events dedicated to the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations.
In the regional context, the importance of strict implementation of the trilateral agreements of the leaders of Azerbaijan, Armenia and Russia dated November 9, 2020, January 11 and November 26, 2021, including the early launch of the process of delimitation of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border and the start of project activities to unblock transport and economic ties in the region was confirmed. The issue of concluding a peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan to which Russia is ready to assist in every possible way was touched upon.
The high level of interaction between Moscow and Yerevan within the framework of the Eurasian integration bodies - the CSTO, the EAEU, the CIS, as well as on international platforms was noted.
Meanwhile, according to the press service of the RA Foreign Ministry, Mirzoyan presented the situation that has developed on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border and in Nagorno-Karabakh as a result of provocations by Azerbaijan and violations of the ceasefire regime. The Armenian Minister also presented to his counterpart the position of the Armenian side regarding the start of negotiations on a peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan, and in this context the important role of the co-chairmanship of the OSCE Minsk Group was pointed out. During the telephone conversation, the interlocutors touched upon the process of normalization of Armenian-Turkish relations, exchanged views on issues of regional and international security. It should also be noted that today the Azerbaijani media reported on a telephone conversation between the Foreign Ministers of Russia and Azerbaijan. On the agenda were the implementation of trilateral agreements on Nagorno-Karabakh and the situation in Ukraine. -
