ArmInfo. The Ministry of Health of Armenia responded to reports of a shortage of paracetamol in the country's pharmacies and provided information on procurement.
So, in a statement of the department, it is noted that in connection with the situation with coronavirus, influenza and acute respiratory infections in the world, and in Armenia in particular, a number of preparations containing paracetamol are widely used by citizens.
The Ministry of Health stated that in this regard, short-term fluctuations in supply and demand for some primary health care medicines are possible, but they are quickly corrected.
"Nevertheless, over the past 2 months, the Ministry of Health of Armenia has issued a permit for the import of 437,714 packages of drugs (4,496,488 tablets) containing 500 mg of paracetamol. In the near future, customs clearance of 127.3 thousand packages of medicines (1273 thousand tablets) containing paracetamol will be completed, and up to 500 thousand tablets of paracetamol will be sold by the pharmaceutical company Arpimed. At the same time, 21,240 paracetamol tablets with a dosage of 375 mg and another 197,284 tablets with a dosage of 500 mg were received through humanitarian assistance, which were distributed to medical institutions in Yerevan and regions of the country," the RA Ministry of Health reported.
The Ministry also reminded that, in consultation with a doctor or pharmacist, other drugs containing paracetamol available in pharmacies can be used.
It should be noted that in recent days, citizens have been complaining about the lack of an effective and budgetary antipyretic drug paracetamol in the pharmacies of the capital.
