ArmInfo.Turkey and Azerbaijan pose a political and economic threat to Armenia. This is evidenced by the results of a sociological study conducted by the American International Republican Institute (IRI), which was conducted in Armenia from November 22 to December 5, 2021. The level of statistical error of the study, which covered 1512 respondents across the country, is +/- 2.5%.
So, when asked which 2 countries pose the greatest political threat to Armenia, 90% of respondents answered Turkey, 77% - Azerbaijan. According to the polls, among the countries posing a political threat to Armenia are: Russia - 15%, Great Britain - 3%, Israel - 2%, USA - 2%, Georgia - 1%.
According to the citizens of Armenia, Turkey and Azerbaijan pose the biggest economic threat to Armenia. So, to clarify which 2 countries pose the greatest economic threat to Armenia, 68% of respondents answered Turkey, 52%- Azerbaijan, 17% - Russia, 10% - Georgia, 4% - Iran. 1% each from the respondents mentioned the US, China and the EU. When asked which 2 countries pose the greatest threat to the security of Armenia, 88% of respondents answered Turkey, 81% - Azerbaijan, 11% - Russia. Respectively 2% of the respondents see danger from the USA, Israel and Iran. 1 % each from the Georgia and France.
At the same time, for clarification, with which two countries relations should be improved for the development of Armenia, 53% of respondents answered Russia, 35% - the United States, 29% - Iran, 25% - France, 15% - China, 9% - the EU, 7% - Georgia , 5% - Turkey, 4% - Azerbaijan.
