ArmInfo. The French Embassy in Armenia commented on the joint visit of the representatives of the EU and the French Presidency of the Council of the European Union to Yerevan.
"Today, the French Presidency of the Council of the European Union and the EU, led by Isabelle Dumont and Toivo Claar, made a joint visit to Armenia to continue the work begun in Brussels during the talks between the Presidents [of the European Council and France] Charles Michel and Emmanuel Macron with Nikol Pashinyan and Ilham Aliyev [the Prime Minister of Armenia and the President of Azerbaijan, respectively] in the name of peace, prosperity and stability in the region," the French Embassy in Armenia said in a statement.
Yesterday, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev met in Baku with Isabelle Dumont, Advisor to the French President's Cabinet for Continental Europe and Turkey, and Toivo Klaar, Special Representative of the European Union for the South Caucasus and the crisis in Georgia. At the meeting, an exchange of views took place on ensuring lasting peace and stability in the region, as well as other issues of mutual interest.
On January 20, the delegation left Baku for Yerevan, where today it has already met with the Secretary of the Security Council of the Republic of Armenia and the Foreign Minister. The agenda of the talks included issues related to the Armenia-EU partnership, the border situation and the activities of the OSCE Minsk Group.
