ArmInfo.I am deeply worried by reports of renewed incidents and casualties on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border. EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus and the Crisis in Georgia Toivo Klaar wrote about this in his Twitter microblog.
"It is important for the sides to de-escalate and make full use of available mechanisms, in particular the hotline between MoDs established under EU auspices in November 2021. The European Union is ready to work with the sides for a distancing of forces and reiterate our readiness to provide additional support in working with Armenia and Azerbaijan on border delimitation and demarcation," Klaar wrote.
It should be noted that yesterday, the enemy fired on Armenian combat positions in the direction of Gegharkunik, including from artillery and UAVs. According to the RA Ministry of Defense, as a result of these actions of the enemy, three Armenian servicemen were killed and two more were injured. Meanwhile, according to the media, the number of injured reached 6 people. Azerbaijan has confirmed the death of one of its servicemen. It is worth noting that since May 2021, the enemy invaded the territory of the Republic of Armenia in Gegharkunik and Syunik, established a foothold there and periodically undertakes various provocations.
