ArmInfo.Chairman of the CSTO Collective Security Council, Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan made the following statement this morning:
In connection with the appeal of President of the Republic of Kazakhstan K. -J. Tokayev and due to the threat to national security and the sovereignty of the Republic of Kazakhstan, which arose including as a result of external interference, the CSTO Collective Security Council, in accordance with Article 4 of the Collective Security Treaty, decided to send Collective peacekeeping forces of the CSTO in the Republic of Kazakhstan for a limited time period in order to stabilize and normalize the situation in this country.
According to media reports, Belarus is sending 500 servicemen to Kazakhstan, Russia - 3000, Tajikistan - 200, Armenia - 70. Kyrgyzstan needs a parliamentary decision, which will be convened tomorrow.
