The first meeting of the cooperation platform in the "3 + 3" format, dedicated to the issues of ensuring peace and stability in the South Caucasus, will be held at the level of deputy foreign ministers on December 10 in Moscow. This was reported by the press service of the Turkish Foreign Ministry.
"The first meeting of the regional cooperation platform in the '3 + 3' format, proposed by our President [Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan] and Azerbaijani President Mr. Ilham Aliyev to ensure lasting peace and stability in the South Caucasus, will be held on December 10, 2021 in Moscow," the message of the department redas, Anadolu reports.
The meeting will be attended by the deputy foreign ministers of Turkey, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Russia and Iran.
Turkey will be represented at the meeting by a delegation led by Deputy Foreign Minister Sedat Onal.
It should be noted that yesterday at the sitting of the National Assembly of Armenia during the government hour, RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated that Armenia could be interested in the "3 + 3" format if the issues that Armenia is already discussing in the framework of other formats are not discussed on this platform.
According to the Prime Minister, the Armenian authorities have already discussed this issue with their Russian counterparts. "We have already discussed this issue with our Russian partners. They agreed with this opinion. In the coming days, if I am not mistaken on December 10, the so-called preliminary meeting in the" 3 + 3 "or" 3 + 2 "format will take place. Armenia will take part in this meeting at the level of the Deputy Foreign Minister, "Pashinyan said, adding that the Armenian government decided to pursue an active regional policy and now it is working in this direction.
It should be noted, that Georgia refused to participate in this platform due to the presence of Russia in it.
