ArmInfo. On December 2, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan raised the issue of discrepancies in the data on mortality from COVID-19 provided by the Armenian Ministry of Health and the National Statistical Service at a government meeting.
As the head of the Ministry of Healthcare Anahit Avanesyan pointed out, the department continues to study the relevant studies. Upon completion, the public will be informed about the results.
At the same time, according to her, since the beginning of the outbreak of the pandemic, the Armed system has been collecting all data in a database. However, there were certain data that were still not included in it. The reasons have yet to be clarified, the Minister said.
Addressing Prosecutor General Artur Davtyan, the Prime Minister said that after completing an internal investigation in the government, he will instruct the supervisory authority to find out if there is any malicious intent. "At the moment, the impression is that there is no any intentionality, but it will be correct if the Prosecutor's Office examines and gives us a clear answer. If it turns out that there is intent, providing for responsibility, we should be consistent, and if it turns out that the problem was technical, then this will be a reason to improve the Armed system, "Pashinyan said.
