ArmInfo.The U.S. government has provided more than $5 million to support those impacted by last year's hostilities and $15 million to fight COVID-19 in Armenia, reads a message on the Facebook page of the US Embassy in Armenia, referring to the USAID.
Armenia `s Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Narek Mkrtchyan and Dr. Alexander Sokolowski, Deputy Assistant Administrator (DAA) in the Bureau for Europe and Eurasia at USAID, discussed issues of humanitarian and social aid. During and after last year`s hostilities the U.S. government supported the people displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh by providing shelters, food and clothing. Mr Sokolowski reiterated the USA`s commitment to assist Armenia in fighting COVID-19 and dealing with problems resultant from last year`s hostilities.
USAID hopes for further cooperation with the ministry under the current programmes, the message reads.
