ArmInfo. China hopes to resolve differences between Yerevan and Baku through dialogue and consultation. Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Zhao Lijian said this at a briefing on Tuesday, commenting on the talks between the leaders of the Russian Federation, Armenia and Azerbaijan in Sochi.
In this context, Lijian especially emphasized the role of Moscow in establishing peace and stability in the region, noting that he highly appreciates the efforts of the Russian Federation.
He also recalled that China cooperates equally with Armenia and Azerbaijan, expressing the hope that the parties will take a step towards each other, settle contradictions and disagreements through dialogue and consultations, and jointly defend peace and stability in the region, RIA Novosti reports.
On November 26, Sochi hosted a meeting of the leaders of Russia, Azerbaijan and Armenia, Vladimir Putin, Ilham Aliyev and Nikol Pashinyan. The parties agreed by the end of the year to establishmechanisms for demarcation and delimitation of the border between the two Transcaucasian republics, which in turn will help unblock transport and economic ties.
