


ArmInfo.The issue of building a railway and a road along the Araks River has been resolved. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan told this to journalists on the way from Ashgabat to Ankara.
So, referring to the situation in the South Caucasus, Erdogan said that during the conversation with the President of Azerbaijan, the results of the trilateral meeting of President Ilham Aliyev with the leaders of the Russian Federation and Armenia, which took place on November 26 in Sochi on the initiative of the Russian side, were discussed.
"My brother Ilham Aliyev said that the meeting was positive and productive. The issue of building a railway and a road along the Araz River (Araks, ed. note) has been resolved. On the agenda is the construction of a highway, part of which will pass through the territory of Armenia, up to the Turkish Ygdyr," the Turkish leader said, Anadolu reports.
Erdogan also recalled the initiative of the Turkish side to form a 3 + 3 platform for dialogue in the South Caucasus. "This platform may include Russia, Turkey, Iran, Azerbaijan, Armenia and Georgia, if the latter supports it. This platform will become an indicator of the desire for peace in the region. There are positive steps in this direction," the Turkish head of state said.
