ArmInfo.Former Ambassador of Armenia to Iran Artashes Tumanyan was appointed Advisor to the RA Prime Minister.
As reported by the official website of the RA government, the corresponding decision was signed on November 24 by Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan.
President Armen Sarkissian recalled Ambassador of Armenia to Iran Artashes Tumanyan on October 13 this year. Career diplomat Arsen Avagyan replaced him.
Artashes Tumanyan served as the Armenian Ambassador to Iran since February 17, 2015. 1990-1999 he was a member of parliament, head of the Tax Service (1997-1998), then was an adviser to the RA President, first deputy foreign minister (1999-2000). In 2000-2006, he served as the head of the administration of the second president of Armenia, Robert Kocharian.
