ArmInfo.Armenia's withdrawal from the current, constantly aggravating security problems is primarily due to the change in psychology, respectively, in the thinking of our leadership. Independent analyst Saro Saroyan expressed this opinion to ArmInfo.
"Only after this will our leadership be able to realize the impossibility of building a policy in our region on the basis of ideas of false peacefulness. Only then will it be possible to form an Armenian real politic on the basis of a multi-vector, comparing the interests of various powers, to a certain extent, an aggressive militaristic policy that allows solving the problems of ensuring the security of Armenia, "he stressed.
In Saroyan's opinion, against the background of the actual disruption of the work of the institutions designed to ensure the security of Armenia, the emergence of new problems with this particular security, in particular, in the Syunik direction, was absolutely predictable. Especially against the background of aggressively militaristic sentiments of Baku, which during the year tried to build on last year's success at any cost in order to solve a strategic task, that is, to ensure direct ground communication between Azerbaijan and Turkey.
In the opinion of the analyst, against the background of such a Turkic collective determination, it is futile to expect that Baku and Ankara will not use the opportunities provided by Yerevan's "peace-loving". Accordingly, the current peace-loving policy of Armenia aimed at building good-neighborly relations does not a priori correspond to the current geopolitical realities in general, and the goals of the Turkish- Azerbaijani tandem in particular.
According to Saroyan, the current geopolitical realities that serve as a background for the situation around Armenia are characterized by Turkish expansion in one of the most important directions of Ankara's policy - to the East. According to him, through the existence of the idea of the Turkic world, Turkey today has found significant opportunities for expansion into the countries of Central Asia. Including in the light of the recent events in Afghanistan, which forces neighboring countries to look for new sources of security, since everyone is already aware of Russia's inability to provide this security.
"So, the implementation of Turkey's expansionist plans requires expansion routes. And the only such way to the East for Turkey is the South Caucasus, or more precisely, the Armenian Syunik. Therefore, we must all be clear about one simple and elementary truth - Turkey will never stop. And with the support of Azerbaijan and through it, they will continue to try to solve the problem at any cost. They tried to break through a corridor in the south of Syunik to Meghri but ran into Iran there. Accordingly, now the Turks are trying to bypass this obstacle and find a new way away from Iran's borders in Syunik, in the Black Lake area, now in Vayots Dzor. And against this background, our main problem is that we still hope that the Turks will stop, "the analyst concluded.
