Zakharova: We believe it is important to resume the practice of  full-format trips of the co-chairs to the region as soon as possible

ArmInfo.The format of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs enjoys broad international support. Official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria  Zakharova stated this at a weekly briefing.

"As noted in the Statement of the Russian Foreign Ministry of  November 9, 2021, we consider it important to continue efforts along  the line of the "troika", primarily in the context of solving the  socio-economic and humanitarian tasks facing the region.

Let me remind you that on September 24 this year <on the sidelines>  of the 76th session of the UN General Assembly, the OSCE Minsk Group  co-chairs held a meeting with the foreign ministers of Azerbaijan and  Armenia in the <3 + 2> format. Now the "troika" is preparing for  contacts in a number of European capitals. We believe it is important  to resume the practice of full-format trips of the co-chairs to the  region as soon as possible, "she said.

Regarding the activities of the <3 + 3> platform, Zakharova recalled  that she had repeatedly commented on this topic at recent briefings.  According to her, Russia supported this initiative. "We believe that  the time has come to translate the plans to launch this format into a  practical track. As for the position of Georgia, we hear from Tbilisi  contradictory statements about participation in this consultative  mechanism. But this is the position of a sovereign country. We  proceed from the fact that the <3 + 3> format meets the interests of  all states in the region, "the Russian Foreign Ministry  representative summed up.
