ArmInfo. State Minister of the Artsakh Republic Artak Beglaryan together with NKR Permanent Representative to the United States Robert Avetisyan and Chief Adviser to the State Minister David Hakobyan held meetings with members of the United States Congress Frank Pallone, Anna Eshoo and Jim Costa.
During the meetings, Beglaryan briefly presented the humanitarian situation in Artsakh, the approaches of Nagorno-Karabakh to the conflict settlement, short-term and long-term programs of the government.
The State Minister stressed that due to the fact that the international community gives tribute to the Azerbaijani policy of isolating Artsakh, there is a significant lack of funds to eliminate the humanitarian consequences of the war. In this context, he stressed the need to increase the international involvement of Artsakh, taking into account the existing needs and specifics in the field of security and humanitarian assistance.
The head of the Cabinet noted that the recognition of the fact of the realization of the right of the people of Artsakh to self-determination is of key importance for the final and just settlement of the conflict, expressing the hope that the OSCE Minsk Group will make active efforts in this direction.
He stressed the need for a fair and early solution to the issue of the international status of Artsakh in the context of the long-term security of the people of Artsakh and the protection of other fundamental rights and interests.
Artak Beglaryan also visited the Armenian department of the Library of Congress, got acquainted with the opportunities available there, discussed the mechanisms for the constant increase in the amount of literature related to Artsakh.
