ArmInfo. On November 1, RA Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Gnel Sanosyan received Ambassador of Iran to Armenia Abbas Badakhshan Zohouri.
As reported by the press service of the RA Ministry of Territorial Administration, prospects for regional cooperation, implementation of joint programs in the field of transport and energy infrastructure were discussed at the meeting. Sanosyan pointed to the rich agenda of bilateral cooperation and the established reliable partnership. In turn, the Ambassador expressed confidence that deep historical and cultural relations between Armenia and Iran contribute to the development of ties between the countries in various directions.
During the conversation, the interlocutors touched upon regional processes. Pointing to the importance of the situation in the region, the Ambassador stressed the importance of the Syunik region for the Iranian side. In this vein, he informed that in the near future, mutual visits of various delegations are planned, which will be able to take part in various projects being implemented in Syunik region.
Emphasizing the role of infrastructures in Syunik, the Armenian Minister spoke about the active road construction work carried out there.
Sanosyan informed the Ambassador that the construction of the Tatev-Aghvani section of the road is nearing completion, and the Tatev-Ltsen section is in the laying process. From a strategic point of view, the Minister stressed the importance of the construction of the Sisian-Kajaran and Kajaran-Agarak road.
The interlocutors also exchanged views on the possibilities of expanding cooperation within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union, as well as on the prospects for Iran to enter the Union market through the EAEU member Armenia.
Some details of the forthcoming visit of Minister Sanosyan to the Islamic Republic of Iran were also discussed.
