Deputy Head of NSS assures: Goris-Kapan road of the Syunik region of  Armenia is absolutely safe

ArmInfo.The Goris-Kapan road of the Syunik region of Armenia is safe, Deputy Director of the National Security Service (NSS) of Armenia Aram Hakobyan assured journalists in the parliament on November 1.

According to him, he returned from Syunik yesterday, and despite the  fact that "there are representatives of the neighboring country," the  road is absolutely safe for the citizens of Armenia.

When asked that the citizens of Armenia regularly alarmed that they  are not only stopped on this section of the road, and their vehicles  are inspected, but the Azerbaijani military also hit cars, Hakobyan  said that he has no such information.

To recall, on September 12, at 12:00, Azerbaijan began to stop trucks  with Iranian numbers on the section under its control near the  Armenian village of Vorotan of the Goris-Kapan highway, passing  through the territory of the Republic of Armenia, and demand from  them a fare. As stated in the State Customs Committee (SCC) of  Azerbaijan, Baku established control on the section of the Goris-  Kapan road passing through the Syunik region of Armenia, "in  accordance with the Azerbaijani tax code. And vehicles are subject to  road tax, as well as a state duty for obtaining a permit regulating  international road transport in the territory of Azerbaijan. " 

In mid-September, on this section of the Goris-Kapan road, the  Azerbaijani military stopped and inspected a minibus carrying  Karabakh children. The minibus had Karabakh symbols: the flag of the  Nagorno-Karabakh Republic and "Grandfather and Grandmother". The  Azerbaijanis stopped it, very impudently checked the teenagers'  phones under the pretext of looking for some kind of record, and  scraped the Artsakh flag off the bus with a knife. There were also  alarms from drivers that they were not only stopped, but also issued  fines.
