ArmInfo. At the moment, a meeting between Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, with the mediation of Russian leader Vladimir Putin, is not planned.
Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan stated this at a parliamentary meeting during questions and answers to the government, referring to the media reports about the upcoming November 9 meeting at the level of the leaders of Armenia and Azerbaijan with the mediation of Russia and the signing of a peace agreement.
"At the same time, proposals on various formats for organizing meetings in the above composition are constantly being discussed. Presumably, as a result of such possible meetings, an agreement may be reached on the publication of any text, but the signing of documents with these two contents discussed in the media is not planned (peace agreement and document on the beginning of the process of demarcation and delimitation, Ed. note) ", the Armenian Foreign Minister said, recalling that the Foreign Ministry made a capacious commentary on this issue.
At the same time, Ararat Mirzoyan noted that these meetings are of practical importance for the Armenian side for resolving post-war humanitarian issues and, first of all, the immediate release of prisoners of war and civilians held by Azerbaijan, as well as ensuring the safety of the Armenian cultural and religious heritage. "These meetings are also an opportunity to ease tensions in the region, try to make long-term efforts to ensure long-term stability and peace. This is our motivation to participate in such a meeting," he said.
At the same time, the Armenian Minister assured that during the negotiations behind closed doors, Armenia's position is 100% consistent with the position publicly declared by the ruling political force, headed by the RA Prime Minister, and they do not back down a millimeter.
It should be noted that at the end of last week, the media reported that on November 9 a meeting of the leaders of Armenia and Azerbaijan is planned with the mediation of Russia, at which a peace treaty will be signed, which, among other things, involves the beginning of the process of demarcation and delimitation of the border. The informational stuffing was made through the website of the former adviser to the RA Prime Minister Arsen Kharatyan.
