ArmInfo.Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan on October 27, during the government hour in parliament, answering the question of MP of the "I Have the Honor" faction Tigran Abrahamyan, told at what moment it became clear that Armenia was on the verge of war.
According to the Prime Minister, the Armenian leadership was regularly reported that Armenia was on the brink of war, in particular, after the 2011 Kazan summit when the document was "not signed", in 2018, after his inauguration as prime minister. "In fact, information about the possible start of the war was received on a daily basis. However, these messages were filtered by the relevant institutions in order to give a more specific assessment," he said.
Information about the possible start of the 44-day war, according to Pashinyan, came two days before the start of hostilities. "There was a radio interception - one sentence that seemed to us quite reliable," the prime minister said.
Nikol Pashinyan also touched upon the accusations of the Hayastan faction, headed by second President of the Republic of Armenia Robert Kocharian about the decline of the subjectivity of Nagorno-Karabakh. "I am surprised that the members of the Hayastan bloc are talking about this. I'm Sorry, but you ousted Artsakh from the negotiations in 1999. And this is an internationally recorded fact," he stressed.
According to him, according to the same logic, the faction has no right to speak about the loss of more than 70% of the territories of Artsakh due to the fault of the current government, since these territories, as Pashinyan pointed out, were the subject of negotiations under the previous government. Pashinyan once again reminded the opposition that it was under the rule of the "former authorities" that the law "On the administrative-territorial division of the RA" was adopted. "After a short verbal shootout and mutual reproaches, Nikol Pashinyan said that it is difficult to answer some questions openly." In this regard, the Prime Minister invited all opposition factions to a closed-door meeting.
