ArmInfo. France together with Russia and the United States is working to conclude a long-term agreement on Nagorno-Karabakh. Newly appointed Ambassador of France to Armenia Anne Louyot stated this. The Ambassador did not provide details, but considered it necessary to emphasize the participation of all three OSCE Minsk Group co-chairing countries in this process.
"You are aware that here, in Armenia, I do not participate in the work of the OSCE Minsk Group. I have a counterpart - Stephane Visconti , who represents France in the OSCE Minsk Group. But I can already tell you that the progress has been recorded in New York, together with the other co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group, we were pleased to organize a meeting of the two foreign ministers [Armenia and Azerbaijan]. It may seem like a small step, but it was a huge step. We hope there will be other similar solutions. And I can assure you that we are working with our Russian and American partners to advance the process aimed at concluding a longer-term agreement on Karabakh," she told RFE/RL's Armenian Service. To the clarifying question whether it is necessary to wait for the activation of the OSCE Minsk Group, the diplomat replied: "The OSCE Minsk Group has already become more active in New York, as I just told you. We are not alone. I think that Armenia and Azerbaijan should also move."
To recall, in September this year in New York on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly, the first meeting of the foreign ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan under the auspices of the OSCE Minsk Group took place after the 44-day military aggression unleashed by Azerbaijan against Nagorno-Karabakh.
