ArmInfo. The route is extremely important for the upcoming visit of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs to Artsakh. A similar opinion was expressed to ArmInfo by the lawmaker of the National Assembly of Armenia of the 7th convocation, expert on Azerbaijan Tatevik Hayrapetyan.
"If the mediators come to Stepanakert through Berdzor from Armenia, this will undoubtedly become a positive step for us. At the same time, despite the recent statements on this topic by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov and Ilham Aliyev, at the moment it is not possible to judge the preconditions set by Baku. There are too many uncertainties around this topic, which does not allow seeing a holistic picture that can be analyzed, "she stressed.
Earlier, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said that on September 28, the OSCE Minsk Group co- chairs agreed in New York with the Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan to resume working trips to the region. "They agreed to resume their visits to the region for talks on the spot with representatives of Armenia and Azerbaijan, including in Stepanakert. Now the main task of the MG is to contribute to the positive trends achieved thanks to the trilateral declaration of a complete ceasefire in the conflict zone. The achieved stability must be consolidated in every possible way, ensuring the coexistence and cooperation of the Armenian and Azerbaijani communities. I would not make more ambitious plans now, "Lavrov said. Commenting on the possibility of a meeting between Armenian Prime Minister Pashinyan and Azerbaijani President Aliyev, Hayrapetyan drew attention to the latter's recent statement, according to which "the meeting must correspond to new realities." At the same time, she noted that Aliyev continues to repeat about the absence of the existence of such a unit as Nagorno-Karabakh.
According to the expert, these statements by Aliyev indicate that even trying to create the appearance of his readiness to return to the negotiating table within the framework of the OSCE Minsk Group, the latter in reality continues to push through his own demands and agenda. Including, directly contradicting the agenda of Armenia and the co-chairs of the Minsk Group on Artsakh and the status of Artsakh.
