ArmInfo. Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia Alen Simonyan held a meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of India to the Republic of Armenia Kishan Dan Dewal.
Noting that Armenia highly appreciates the development and deepening of relations with India, Simonyan said that the Armenian-Indian parliamentary friendship group will be reorganized in the RA National Assembly, which will be important in expanding inter-parliamentary cooperation.
At the same time, the RA NA Speaker stated that the formation of a similar friendship group in India will also create an opportunity for deepening ties between the legislative bodies of the two countries. Stressing the importance of positive cooperation between Armenia and India at international platforms, Alen Simonyan highly appreciated the balanced approach of the Indian government to the vital issues of Armenia in international organizations.
During the meeting, the parties touched upon regional security issues. In this context, the Armenian side highly appreciated the approach of official New Delhi from the point of view of the peaceful settlement of the Karabakh conflict within the framework of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairmanship.
Expressing gratitude for the reception, the Indian Ambassador highly appreciated the continuous support provided by Armenia in the international arena in the issue of the peaceful settlement of the Kashmir conflict.
The importance of mutual visits to determine new promising areas of bilateral cooperation was mutually emphasized.
