Analyst: Except for Armenia, everyone in the region is preparing for  war

ArmInfo.At the moment, all states of our region, well as the as states related to our region, are preparing for new wars. Everyone except Armenia. A similar  opinion was expressed to ArmInfo by an expert on security problems,  doctor of political science Hrachya Arzumanyan.

Yesterday the Armenian media, referring to unnamed sources in Syunik,  spread information about the preparation of Azerbaijan and Turkey for  another aggression against Armenia. According to this information, on  September 16-17 (the days of holding and summing up the results of  the parliamentary elections in the Russian Federation), the  Azerbaijani forces accumulated near the Black Lake intend to break  through deep into the territory of Armenia in order to get a corridor  to Turkey. On the Armenian side, the accumulation and concentration  of military power is also observed in this area.

"There is an active preparation for military operations, because  everyone understands that geopolitics in the South Caucasus and  around is determined by military logic. I think it is wrong and  unproductive to speak and reason about peace in such conditions, as  our authorities do. The right words should be used, one should not  lie to its own society and manipulate public opinion. I say this,  meaning not only politicians, but also our public figures, experts,  journalists, "he stressed.

According to Arzumanyan's forecasts, the end of the war with  Azerbaijan should not be expected in the foreseeable future. In the  case of the situation around Artsakh, the analyst considers the very  use of the phrase "end of the war" absurd, as, since 1989 the war has  never ended and continues today. There were only different stages of  this war:  truce and escalation. In this light, he recalled that in  1994 there was only a truce that was repeatedly violated  subsequently, followed by another truce in November 2020, but again  not peace.

In the current ceasefire, according to Arzumanyan, military actions  on the borders of Armenia are replacing actions in the form of a  hybrid war. This is how the analyst characterizes the latest actions  of Turkey and Russia carried out on the Armenian borders through the  Armed Forces of Azerbaijan. Against the background of the ongoing  hybrid war, he considers talks about some other processes, especially  about peace, to be completely meaningless.

According to the analyst, today's processes can be characterized as  forcing Armenia exclusively into another war.  And none of the  players in the region is ready or going to promote a peaceful agenda.   In this light, Arzumanyan is convinced of the need for Armenia's  readiness and combat readiness not even for the expected, but for the  ongoing war. 

"Talking about peace in the region where Armenia is located is  senseless, ridiculous and divorced from reality. And if we continue  to do what we are doing today, we will very soon get another  large-scale military action. This time within the framework of the  approaches used in hybrid wars. And as a result, defeat, which may  well end in the loss of even Armenia. There is no peace, there is  creeping aggression, hybrid war, whatever, but not peace. And this  must be understood, appropriate conclusions should be drawn and  actions should be taken, " Arzumanyan summed up.
