On August 31, Moscow will host a meeting between Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan, who will pay a working visit to Russia. The official website of the Russian Foreign Ministry reports.
This is the first foreign trip of the head of the Armenian Foreign Ministry since his appointment to this post.
It is planned that the ministers will thoroughly discuss further steps to develop the Russian-Armenian alliance in all areas, build up cooperation in common integration associations - the CIS, CSTO and EAEU, as well as coordinate positions in the UN, OSCE and other international organizations. The progress in the implementation of the agreements of the leaders of Russia, Armenia and Azerbaijan on Nagorno-Karabakh of November 9, 2020 and January 11, 2021, including humanitarian issues and the unblocking of economic and transport ties in the South Caucasus, will be considered.
"We hope that the upcoming talks in Moscow will contribute to deepening allied cooperation with Yerevan, strengthening security and stability in the region," the message says.
