ArmInfo. The current policy, tactics and strategy of Baku are not at all limited to the task of obtaining a strategically important corridor through the territory of Armenia. Expert on national security issues, Doctor of Political Sciences Hrachya Arzumanyan expressed a similar opinion to ArmInfo.
"The goal is to neutralize, it is quite also possible to destroy Armenia as a state, as a political factor. Remove the Armenian issue from the agenda and prevent it from being formulated in the future. And the enemy speaks about all this quite openly, but for some reason we do not want to admit it. So giving them a corridor, we will not find peace at all. The war will continue in other ways, on different platforms and in other forms. New problems will appear, which will end only with the renunciation of statehood by the Armenian people, "he stressed.
Nevertheless, according to the expert's estimates, even today, the whole seriousness of the problems and threats, the existence of which the country has already faced is not perceived in Armenia. In this light, Arzumanyan is convinced that the defeat in the 44-day war was a natural consequence of the lack of understanding in Armenia, the ability to calculate the goals and intentions of the enemy. In his opinion, the loss was the result of a lack of understanding that the war is not waged with Azerbaijan, but with Turkey, whose partner in this war is Armenia's strategic ally Russia.
In this light, the expert sees nothing new in the current Azerbaijani aggressiveness towards Armenian villages and defensive lines, in the shelling of the Armenian borders. First of all, due to the fact that Azerbaijan continues the hybrid war against Armenia. According to him, as a result, today Baku, Ankara and Moscow are forcing Yerevan to discuss the demarcation and delimitation of borders, a problem that has absolutely nothing to do with reality. According to Arzumanyan, it is at least incorrect to discuss border demarcation in the context of ongoing hostilities.
According to the expert's forecasts, in any case, Baku, Ankara and Moscow will continue this strategy, especially considering that, by and large, Armenia today is no longer opposed to Azerbaijan, but de facto, Turkey which has absorbed the latter. In his opinion, it is also necessary to understand the impossibility of solving the Armenia's problems with "one nation, two states" without reformatting and revising relations with Russia. In this case, the revision of the role of Russia in the region, the need for its military presence in Armenia, determination of its conditions, etc. In other words, continuing to move forward within the framework of the logic of decisions made in the past, which brought the Armenian people to the disaster in Artsakh, in his opinion it is impossible to come up with a solution to the problem.
"Solutions can be found only by stopping, reviewing, analyzing what happened, realizing and formulating the tasks of Armenia in the 21st century, realizing whether you need allies and only after that starting to search for them. For 30 years we have been told about the need to remain loyal to Russia. Did our loyalty help us? 30-year-old solutions don't work. Accordingly, it is necessary to search for new solutions that can bring new opportunities. There will be risks always and everywhere, but by continuing to wallow in the swamp, you will never be guaranteed another blow. And in order to gain new allies, it is first necessary to decide where we are now, and where we are going and why "summed up Arzumanyan.
