ArmInfo.Turkey's imperial projects in the post-Soviet space will not be limited to Azerbaijan alone. A similar opinion was expressed to ArmInfo by Russian orientalist, President of the Middle East Institute (MEI), Yevgeny Satanovsky.
"Today Russia is building a nuclear power plant for Erdogan. It supplies gas and oil, and even S-400 complexes. We are trading with Erdogan. And Erdogan is building an empire at this time. Can you feel the difference? Turkey has already received Georgian Adjara through the investments of Turkish capital in this province. Since Georgia ready to sell anything and anyone, just not to deal with Russia. Turkey, in turn, settled in Adjara, not wanting to allow Georgia to work with Russia in the economic sector, "he said.
According to Satanovsky's estimates, sooner or later, everyone will have to take a position. Judging by the transition from the Cyrillic to the Latin alphabet, the fight against the Russian language and the washing out of the Russian-speaking population, some former fraternal republics are already doing this. In his opinion, Turkey today is doing everything that is possible with the aim of further increasing its own influence in Kazakhstan and Central Asia. According to him, moreover, Erdogan, already feels more than confident in the Turkic regions of Russia itself.
"Yes, we did not allow Erdogan to overthrow Assad, we hold Syria, we put spikes in the wheels in Libya, we did not allow to completely capture Karabakh. But in Azerbaijan he went too far - Azerbaijan is practically Turkish and Erdogan openly demonstrates this. As a result of the 44-day war, the Azerbaijani army has come under the full control of Turkey. I'm afraid that Ilham Aliyev has not yet understood this, but if Erdogan suddenly does not like something, he will decide the name of the next ruler of Azerbaijan. This is "one nation - two states" in action", the orientalist emphasized.
Commenting on the prospects for the formation of a unified army of Turkey and Azerbaijan, Satanovsky suggested that the 300-year history of Russian wars, the development of territories and state building in the Caspian Sea region returned to its original phase. And Russia in the future, according to his forecasts, will have to wage these wars again, however, at a new level and in a completely different geopolitical scenario. No matter how many representatives of the Liberal society - all kinds of financiers, economists, managers - will repeat the opposite prospects.
According to the Azerbaijani media, on July 29, Speaker of the Turkish Parliament Mustafa Sentop in Ganja stated that Turkey and Azerbaijan are negotiating to form a unified army. On the same day, the same media reported that Sentop's statement "was misunderstood due to a translation error." Then a new version of the translation was released "Joint events are planned in the field of military cooperation. Work on these agreements is underway. Our main motto is one nation and two states. A lot of negotiations and agreements were held around this. "
"I say nothing new, but, you know, as soon as Russia leaves, there will always be someone to take its place, and it does not matter where Russia leaves from, be it in the countries of Eastern Europe, or in the post- Soviet space. And this someone cleaned up or will clean up everything that reminds of Russia. And then it will begin to divide Russia itself, since its own leadership is not ready to draw the right conclusions and rebuild the country after the collapse of the Soviet Union as a result of the activities of its predecessors, " Satanovsky concluded.
