The Armenian government will provide 36.8 million drams to the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports, which in turn will allocate funds to the "Golden Apricot of Cinema Development" NGO for holding the most prestigious international film festival in the region "Golden Apricot".
To note, this year the film festival will be held from October 3 to October 10. It should be reminded that the Golden Apricot International Film Festival is one of the largest cultural events in Yerevan, which was founded in 2004 by Golden Apricot Fund for Cinema Development (GAFCD) and the Armenian Association of Film Critics and Journalists. Founders of Golden Apricot are film director Harutyun Khachatryan, film critics Mikayel Stamboltsyan and Susanna Harutyunyan.
The film festival is held with the aim of increasing the value, popularization of Armenian cinema art, its development, stimulation of international cooperation, the formation of a system of values and taste of the Armenian cinema audience, creation of a film market for the dissemination of Armenian film products, popularization of cultural life, promotion of tourism, small and medium-sized businesses, etc.
