ArmInfo.Remaining in the orbit of Russia, Armenia will lose both Artsakh and Syunik. I am more than convinced of this. Chairman of the party Aram Sargsyan expressed a similar opinion to ArmInfo.
"I really hope that the newly elected government of Armenia will be able to overcome the pressure on it from outside, and now also from inside, from the parliament. In this case, the ruling force will be able to register certain successes. "As a result, Armenia will be able to get out of the quagmire, after which we will take the right track towards development," he said.
Before the elections, during the pre-election period, Moscow, according to the politician, used almost all the tools and mechanisms at its disposal in order to put pressure on Yerevan. The latter, in turn, pursued the goal of gaining "pocket power" and "pocket opposition". Sargsyan stated with regret that following the elections, the Armenian people provided Russia with this opportunity.
"Unfortunately, as of today a large part of our people connects the solution of the internal problems of Armenia , with Russia. It is the presence of this context and subtext in the parliamentary elections held on June 20 that led to the fact that the "Republic" party was in the minority. And it is for the reasons mentioned above that today we are the opposition not only to Robert Kocharian and Serzh Sargsyan, but also to Nikol Pashinyan. It is we, not them, who are the real opposition to the authorities, "he stressed.
At the same time, the politician noted that the vote of confidence received by Pashinyan and his "Civil Contract" party allows the prime minister to practically single-handedly adopt the laws he needs and sign international treaties.
In this light, recalling the unsigned documents circulating in Armenia after the last year's war, as well as those who spread those documents, Sargsyan considered it obvious that they are of Russian origin. The politician also noted Pashinyan's lack of interest in publishing such "raw" documents.
"And, nevertheless, following the results of the past elections, Pashinyan gained significantly greater opportunities than he had after November 9 last year. Considering that the post-war realities questioned the legitimacy, respectively, the power of Pashinyan. But as we see the people did not agree with the attempts to make him the only scapegoat for the defeat. The people considered that it was the "former authorities" who were more guilty than Pashinyan and voted accordingly. The rest of the events will develop within the framework of my logic described above, "the politician concluded.
