ArmInfo.Listening to the content of the election campaign, both the government and its main opponents: threats, curses and shouts, it becomes frankly uncomfortable in front of our entire society, in particular, the young generation, students, to whom we - our generation - should serve as an example. The deputy chairman of the <Armenian National Congress> party Aram Manukyan expressed a similar opinion to ArmInfo.
"In this light, in contrast to all these hammers and other frightening household items that our competitors are brandishing, we are putting up a word. A word based on political wisdom and political experience. Years of experience. You know, a word is also a rather good weapon. Especially when it appeals not to instincts, but to reason and logic. Especially when we try to prevent the destruction of the Armenian statehood using words, "he stressed.
In this light, the politician described the upcoming elections as a very difficult and important political process through which it will be possible to save the state and the country. Manukyan emphasized that these values are at stake in the elections. He explains the latter both by the prospect of the "former regime" coming to power and by the preservation of the current administration. "We must all understand that all these people will run the country in approximately the same way as they are conducting their election campaign in front of our eyes," he said.
A politician today, more than ever, sees the need for articulate, logically grounded and calculated speech. Manukyan is convinced that the word will be the key to ANC's success in the upcoming elections, since a significant part of the Armenian electorate, sharing the concerns he mentioned above, is ready to listen to a restrained, rational and verified speech in exchange for obscenities, shouts and threats. And the number of such people, gradually leaning from apathy to rationalism, according to his personal observations, is constantly growing.
"The number of views of the speeches of the first President Levon Ter-Petrosyan is growing exponentially. And I think that this will inevitably affect our rating and prospects in the elections. I think that following the elections, no force will be able to form a government alone. It will not even be possible to create a coalition. "And here, if our forecasts come true, our proposal will become actual, the essence of which is to elect a person as prime minister who will represent everyone without representing anyone in particular. I mean non-party executive, who will be able to hold negotiations and develop the country without looking back at anyone, "he stressed.
All this, according to Manukyan, will extinguish the internal political fire, calm passions and bring the situation in the country to an internal political balance. This will increase the chances of successful negotiations on resolving the country's main foreign policy problems at this stage. And in a year or two, in a fundamentally new situation, in a country already endowed with a certain immunity, it will be possible to hold new elections with appropriate results and the possibility of forming a new legitimate government, "the politician summed up.
