ArmInfo.The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Germany will allocate49.311 euros for the " Electoral Support for Armenia" program implemented within the framework of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP).
According to the press service of the German Embassy in Armenia, the funds will be used to finance measures for the identification of voters, sanitary measures against Covid-19, as well as the participation of vulnerable groups in the elections.
Acting UNDP Resident Representative in Armenia Michaela Stoikoska and German Ambassador to Armenia Michael Banzhaf signed the corresponding agreement on June 11. Both sides stressed that these measures will contribute to the holding of free, fair, inclusive and transparent parliamentary elections in Armenia.
To note, the exact amount that will be spent by the state on holding the early parliamentary elections scheduled for June 20 has not yet been announced. As head of the Central Election Commission of Armenia Tigran Mukuchyan said, about 460 million drams will go to ballot papers. At the same time, he assured that the amount of costs for the elections will be made public in the near future, after the completion of all calculations.
